We are affiliated to Community Money Advice - a national organisation providing debt advice – and have access to their support and systems. All our advisers are FCA registered and our organisation carries all the usual insurances and accreditation.

We provide free debt advice and management plans for people within the community at no cost to the debtor or the creditor.  We have links with many similar organisations serving those who are struggling with money problems and we have cross referral links in place to facilitate holistic assistance to families and individuals in need.

We offer 1-2-1 and group support via phone, email, social media, Zoom and, to start in September, face to face group classes. It is free for 6 weeks and following that Zoom sessions are £2 and face to face £5 (if a community member is in receipt of benefits then the programme continues to be free). It is a place for people to start their physical activity journey and an opportunity to build their confidence with exercise with our support. Following on from the six weeks participants are able to stay with the Active Living group if that works for them or we also have other Community Fitness Classes available for them to try including Pilates, Keep Fit (Get Active) and our most popular session for our Active Living members to try, our Strength and Balance class.

Active Living for adults with Learning difficulties and disabilities is a brand-new programme which is accessible for all adults with learning difficulties or any disabilities. This healthy lifestyle programme will consist of a weekly session which is 20 minutes of seated theory work where participants will learn how to lead a healthy lifestyle. This will include factors such as healthy eating, personal hygiene, relationships and friendships, healthy alternatives and many more. We will then participate in 40 minutes of physical activity and this will be something new each week.

All participants will need to fill in a registration/referral form to give us a better understanding when it comes to meeting the individual.

Lifewalks

Lifewalks will be restarting on 1st September 2020 Walks are available to book one week in advance from Mon at 10am to Fri 11am. Only Prepaid Lifewalk members will be able to book onto at the current time. Lifewalks is a walking for health scheme organised by Epping Forest District Council Community and Partnerships. Lifewalks is approved by local doctors and hospitals and the West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group. Lifewalks offers a choice of group walks, led by specially trained staff. Walks are across the whole of the Epping Forest District so you will find one near you. You do not have to live in the District to join Lifewalks. Health walks are not ‘power’ walks. You just need to walk as though you are a bit late for an appointment. Fast enough to get warm, but not sweaty. Breath a little faster, but still able to talk normally.

motiv8 youth dance showcase (annual) - supports the engagement of exercise in the community.

Motiv8 is an annual youth and community dance showcase, with local dance groups from across the Epping Forest district performing their latest dance pieces. The young people performing range from the age of 5 to 18 years. Some groups have performed at motiv8 before but others are new to this event.
Motiv8 is co-hosted by Epping Forest District Council and Epping Forest College Performing Arts. The new theatre at the college has been the venue for the show since 2010 and the Level 3 Dance Students always open and close the show.

Come and join our experienced coaches for a day of exciting activities. We believe that there is a sport and activity for everyone. Therefore, at our Multi Sports days, participants can expect to get to try a mixture of traditional and non traditional sports from Tennis to American Football with some wacky games and competitions thrown in for good measure. Participants will need to dress apparently for both indoor and outdoor sports, we would also advise a change of clothing in case of bad weather. Participants will also need a packed lunch, and plenty to drink (fruit juice or water please, no sports drinks). A healthy morning snack will be provided!

Walking Football is a slow paced version of the beautiful game and is aimed at getting you back playing the sport you love. It is designed specifically to help you keep an active lifestyle despite age or injury. This is a fun relaxed social session aimed at getting you playing football again. Each session is £2.50 - the first session is free!  No need to book - just turn up.

The social side is also a huge part of why Walking Football is becoming so popular across the nation. Weekly sessions give people a chance to make new friends, who share a common interest!

The Attendance Specialists offer strategic support to schools regarding school attendance, and advice/guidance to parents regarding school attendance. The Attendance Specialist Team encourages members of the public to contact us where it appears that a child or young person may not be receiving a suitable education at school or otherwise. This information will be shared with ECC's Children Missing Education Team to investigate the circumstances and seek to remove any barriers which are preventing the child or young person from accessing a suitable education. Where schools are concerned about absence levels, they will seek to work with parents/carers to address these concerns and where attendance does not improve, may consider referring the matter to ECC Attendance Compliance Team.

Family Solutions is a team within Essex County Council that provides a variety of support for families who are experiencing difficulties.  Family Solutions approach is to work alongside families on issues that they want to change, so the work undertaken varies from family to family.  We often support with issues such as family dynamics, parenting and the impact on families of things such as domestic abuse, mental health difficulties and substance misuse.  Most work is carried out in the community, often in family homes.  Family Solutions also runs several group work programmes.

The duration of the work undertaken varies according to need.  The average current length of work is 5 months.  Family Solutions’ work with a family never exceeds a year.

Individuals work on the land planting, nurturing and harvesting fruit & veg. This improves their self-esteem, mental and physical well-being and self-worth, ultimately assisting with their integration into society.

Loughton Stroke Club

Suffering a stroke or seeing the changes it brings to a loved one can cause difficulties in one's life.  The Loughton Stroke Club provides a friendly atmosphere for recreation and mutual support for stroke victims in the Loughton, Buckhurst Hill and Chigwell areas.

We welcome membership from stroke survivors and their carers in the local area. The club provides peer support in an informal and friendly setting, offering social and recreational activities including games, conversation, outings, talks and presentations by visiting speakers.

We are affiliated to the Stroke Association and are a registered charity.

We offer an initial 2 hour iPad familiarisation session, followed by a 6 week course (1 day per week) for those interested in continuing to learn.
